The Emerging Political Scenario

The Emerging Political Scenario

‘Panamagate’ refuses to die as the New Year has begun with new bench of the Supreme Court, which will start hearing petitions of Imran Khan and others from Wednesday. However, the new chief justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar, has recused himself from the case. In all probability, the outcome of the case will dominate the emerging political scenario in 2017, which even otherwise is the electioneering year and we will witness lots of political happenings in the next 12 months.

Both, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and the main opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are confident of winning the case, but it is good that both will accept the judgement, at least this is what they say right now.

However, Imran Khan was disappointed when the previous bench, headed by former chief justice, Anwar Zaheer Jamali, adjourned the hearing till the first week of January, and said, the new bench would hear the petitions.

When the senior most judge, Justice Saqib Nisar, took the oath, he ended all kinds of speculations over 'Panama case’, by keeping himself out of the bench. Whether elections will be held as per schedule in 2018 or earlier, the battle for Islamabad will be between the ruling PML-N and opposition PTI, the SC verdict on Panama will also determine the political career of both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and also of Imran Khan.

Imran, who had lost his campaign over election rigging in 2013 after the Judicial Commission findings in 2015, wants to win 'Panama case’, as his chances of victory in the next general elections has a lot to do with the court verdict.

Defeat in this case will further reduce his chances of winning the upcoming elections, but a victory could give a new lease of life to his party and he could go into polls with high spirits. On the other hand, stakes are also high in the other camp. There’s a lot more than the political career of PM Sharif which is under threat.

Any adverse ruling would seriously dent his political legacy, as he often sees his daughter taking over power from him in future. But, the PML-N is ready to take the challenge, as the political battle between the PML and the PTI has now entered the crucial phase and political temperature has also soared.

The kind of language being used by both sides during TV talk shows and in public meetings also reflects rising tensions. The battle for Punjab is the battle for Islamabad. The PML-N has been ruling the province since 1985 and has retired General Pervez Musharraf not staged a coup on Oct 12, 1999, Sharifs could have enjoyed an uninterrupted rule. Musharraf's era had created a split in the party and Chaudhrys of Gujrat sided with the former president as an alley.

However, for the first time, the Muslim League emerged as an opposition party, unlike in the past when leaguers had the reputation of changing loyalties. But many who changed their loyalties during Musharraf's period are now part of PML-N, something which went against Shairfs’ post-Musharraf politics.

Imran Khan, who also supported Musharraf from 1999 to 2002, not only regretted his association with him but is also seriously challenging Sharifs’ political supremacy now. Thus, in 2017, the battlefield will be Lahore, which since 1970s had witnessed major political transformation. Once it was the stronghold of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), under Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. It is the city where three major political parties, PPP, PML and PTI were founded.

So, the city will witness one of the most crucial political battles in the next elections between the 'might of Sharifs’, and the rise of Imran. Some PML-N leaders conceded that for the first time the party faced serious political challenge in 2013 elections in Lahore, and the PTI did jolt the party. "In a way it was good for the party, as competition always helps you correct your mistakes, said a PML-N leader on condition of anonymity, as he criticised some of the party leaders.

Now where would stand the other mainstream political parties in this 'two-party battle’? The PTI has practically replaced the PPP in Punjab, and the latter may witness some important party leaders leaving it before the elections.

The decision of former president, Asif Ali Zardari, to take the centre-stage is something which had been opposed by many leaders of the PPP Punjab. They had even suggested to Mr Zardari to either stay away from the party or become the party's 'Rahbar’ (patron).

The only option for the PPP is the post-election scenario, as they are unlikely to stage a big comeback in near future. In 2017, the party would try to regain some of its lost glory in southern Punjab and sweep in Sindh including improving its position in Karachi.

While Imran Khan is confident that the PTI would retain its position in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, only an anti-PTI alliance comprising PML-N, JUI-F, ANP and PPP could pose challenge to the PTI-JI alliance.

Therefore, we may see hectic political manoeuvring in 2017, in the post-Panama scenario. But, for the first time, Karachi will be most unpredictable in the aftermath of a split in the MQM, between the MQM-Pakistan, MQM-London and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP). Will this split help any of the three or parties like PPP, JI and PTI, is yet to be seen.

The year would determine the future political discourse for 2018. Thus, the visit of Imran Khan and his stay in the city for three days clearly showed that he sees the party chances and has decided to hold public meetings here in the next few months.

While there are little chances of any grand opposition alliance before the election, the PPP is at crossroad right now. The only positive response which Mr Zardari has got was from the PML-Q’s Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, who met him recently. But, his own party's position in Punjab and elsewhere is not much different from that of the PPP in Punjab.

The Supreme Court, since the historic lawyer movement, had taken some historic decisions. It has done what the successive governments and Parliament have failed to do, like holding of local government elections or population census on time as a constitutional obligation. In fact, they failed and put the burden on the SC.

While the mainstream opposition parties, led by Imran Khan, and even persons like Sirajul Haq, have stated that if they did not get justice from the SC, they would settle the issue on roads, i.e. agitation. For them, ‘justice’ means decision in their favour.

Thus, in many ways we have not only tried to politicise the case but also the judiciary, something which could have negative repercussion on the independence of judiciary.

The year 2017 will be the test of political maturity, independence of judiciary, autonomous Election Commission of Pakistan, constituted with consensus and the test of parliament to adopt consensus 'electoral reforms’, and implement it before the next polls.

PMLN Government All Set To Lease Pakistan Steel Mills and PIA

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced his children Hassan & Hussain are blessed with amazing business managing abilities. At the tender age of 16 they had become billionaires by running their steel mills, one of the most successful businesses all over the world Lakshmi Mittal is a fair example of a "King of Steel". Sadly, state owned Pakistan steel mills couldn't be handled by PMLN leadership and it is now set up for lease to a foreign country.
nawaz-sharif-announced-lease-pakistan-steel-mills

Moonis Elahi, Imran Khan, Chaudhry Pervaiz and many other prominent opposition leaders have expressed their concerns over such decisions. Inability to revive the steel mill in 3 years proves incompetence of the N league.
The premier has finally been taken to court over the Panama Leaks issue, the nation demands to know if you can't run state owned businesses to be profitable, how is it possible that your personal businesses flourish but every government business fails under your leadership? Where do their earnings go?

To me as an ordinary citizen of Pakistan it is quite disturbing to know that most of our national businesses have totally collapsed. In my search to find the truth about PMLN's abilities I began skimming through official accounts on Twitter (as it is mostly accurate and is updated frequently) of our prominent leaders.
This one made me bang my head on the desk:
ahsan-iqbal-emerging-market
How Mr Ahsan Iqbal do you claim Pakistan to be an emerging market? Leasing out factories doesn't mean investors are considering your country as an emerging market but if new factories are set up and new entrants enter the competition then we can call it progressive. To me as a common man who faces common problems throughout the year, this is just fake publicity.

We didn't have electricity throughout summer to support factories and businesses and now its winter and we don't have Gas! Utility bill prices are hiked with the arrival of a new season and yet every institution reports loss. You need loans for every project and even to run the country every month and still we are in lead? Our textile industry is now doomed because winter is coming and your government has announced gas load shedding.
I then came across a tweet by Moonis Elahi:

moonis-elahi-tweet-regarding-pia-and-pakistan-steel-mills

Though this isn't directly aimed towards the PSM decision but truly portrays what our incumbent government is capable of. To add injury to insult, PIA also reflects their inefficiency and we've heard rumors in the past it was up for lease too but that didn't happen. PIA is another state owned business that files losses each year but our leaders in power aren't concerned by it. They rather build new Metro trains and Metro buses but can't make reforms in national policy to bring back national railways and other national businesses to their feet. Mr. Moonis Elahi has said it in the best way.

The headline in Dawn made my heart sink as I read Chinese and Iranian firms are interested to take over our loss bearing Pakistan Steel Mills. If these companies are willing to take over, they must be sure it is profitable so why can't Pakistan? Obviously the monthly profits will fly off to the country that succeeds in the bidding. But this profit could have been used for the benefit of our own nation.

Money acquired from leasing it will be a onetime payment and God knows where will it be used, to buy another luxury flat through some offshore company or to buy Rolex's for the Sharif and family? Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, may your claims be true and my fears prove to be wrong, but I couldn't disagree with the Tweet by Moonis Elahi that N League may be full of successful businessmen but they aren't willing to promote state owned businesses.

Pakistani Rupee Will Be At All Time Low In a Decade-Moonis Elahi

Pakistani Rupee Will Be At All Time Low In a Decade

Economic prosperity is directly linked with education and Rs. 700 Million budget allocated for the Sindh education sector is a sheer mockery by the incumbent PMLN Government. Sindh education sector is under-performing and 10 years from now it will have an army of illiterates and under-educated people. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a symposium, titled ‘International Conference on Transforming Economic Development: Policies and Strategies’, organized by the Applied Economics Research Centre (AERC) at the ICCBS, Karachi University on Tuesday, said “Pakistan’s economy is likely to collapse in the next 10 years just like Greece’s”. Unless education sector is given the importance it deserves, a majority of Sindh’s population wouldn’t be able to cope with the future’s challenges.
Moonis Elahi expressed concern over the ill-treatment of education sector in Sindh. “Karachi is the hub of business in Pakistan. If it does not have proper educated people in the next 10 years, the business sector will likely fail and surely our economy will be in ruins”. During the PMLQ tenure, Pakistan on the whole witnessed a huge upsurge in the education sector with a great increase in education budget and through proper training of teachers and introduction of technology in government schools. He further said, Nawaz Sharif is the Prime Minister of Pakistan, not only Punjab and it is his duty to see that all provinces are equally treated.
sindh
Pakistan today faces many challenges such as illiteracy, poverty, corruption, inequity, energy crisis, poor governance and terrorism. The country has been divided in haves and haves-not classes. These issues have given roots to many new problems and have caused a direct negative impact on the economy. Moonis Elahi stated “N League government has failed to manage Pakistan and address its core issues. It has totally failed to accomplish the international Sustainable Development Goals”. They (PMLN) seem much concerned about constructing roads and develop housing societies that are clearly out of common man’s reach. While the nation demands attention on internal policies and good governance, the government is seen busy visiting foreign countries and pleasing Turkey and China.
Imran Khan on the other hand is a prominent leader with the country’s second biggest party but he too does not seem to be concerned about the country’s pressing issues such as educationenergy and climatic issuesThe 1 Billion tree tsunami is not enough to counter Pakistan’s climatic challenges and KPK must come forth to play an active role in promoting tourism. Moonis Elahi has raised the issue of Kalabagh Dam time and again but due to PMLN’s vindictive policies, anything presented by the opposition must be pushed under the carpet no matter how beneficial it may be for the country. Unless policies aimed for the benefit of Pakistan on the whole are not formed matters are bound to get worse and Pakistan’s economy is already at the precipice and 10 years from now, we will have an economy that would be worthless.

Moonis Elahi Says N League Govt Only Efficient In Announcing Shortfalls

Moonis Elahi Says N League Govt Only Efficient In Announcing Shortfalls

N League government on Monday confirmed the stock of petrol and diesel in the country were sufficient only for 13 - 14 days which is much lower than the average 20 days which is mandatory before announcing an emergency of shortfall. So, it is without a doubt that the country would face another petrol crisis similarly it had faced on 27 January 2015.

Moonis Elahi is of the view that the government should learn its priorities and as a democratic government it should focus on serving the people rather than serving itself. In case the country dries up of fuel the entire nation would be shook and businesses would come to a standstill. According to figures released by the ministry of petroleum in a recent press release, the country wide stock of motor gasoline (petrol) is just at 225,674 metric tonnes (MTs) which is sufficient only for 13 days as per current average demand which is around 17,500MTs per day's requirement.

Moonis Elahi said for a government which boasts of productivity and achievements, it is a true picture of its inefficiency and inability to rule the country. It will be the second fiasco in its tenure and Nawaz Sharif has learnt nothing from the past and still lives in a delusional world. While his Darbaris only live to laud him pointlessly the country seems to be running only by Allah.

Moonis Elahi further pointed out, likewise, the press release stated that the countrywide stock of high speed diesel (HSD) was 466,821MTs. As per the current per day usage of HSD, which is around 27,310MTs it is only sufficient for 17 days. Owing to such incompetent rulers, the nation would have to suffer the crisis while the PM and his aides would still be roaming in their luxury cars and helicopters. The ministry has reported that two vessels carrying 17,000MTs of motor gasoline were waiting for berthing but it is unfortunate they are still on the waiting list.

They should be offloaded on priority basis as delays in its berthing would cause a total disturbance countrywide. The ministry's worksheet revealed that the total countrywide storage capacity was around 301,593 tonnes of consumption coverage which is only sufficient for 14 days. Moonis Elahi said "This is an alarming revelation and the government must take war footing steps to increase the storage capacity. It is the capacity which was built way back in PMLQ's tenure and since then no government has focused to increase the country's fuel storage capacity."

Moonis Elahi Optimistic New Army Chief Will Be As Good As Gen Raheel

Moonis Elahi Optimistic New Army Chief Will Be As Good As Gen Raheel

As the countdown begins for a new army chief to take reins of the most powerful institution of Pakistan, COAS Gen Raheel Sharif on Monday began his last week in the office. It was a farewell round to all military formations, while speculations about who would succeed him is at nerve breaking point. With the General to step down on Nov 29, it is now the task of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to pick the next top commander to lead the nation beside him. While it is no hidden truth that the establishment has never been in Nawaz’s good books, but as the incumbent PM of the nation he will be choosing a new COAS.
Moonis Elahi hailed Gen Raheel’s decision to step down on the announced date and that he did not seek an extension as is a normal practice in the country. It is a record fourth time that Nawaz Sharif will be picking a new top commander. Moonis Elahi said “Gen Raheel has performed his duties with exceptional vigilance and will be the first ever COAS in history of Pakistan who will be the national hero”. Unlike his predecessor Gen Kayani who is known to be nothing more than a puppet of Zardari, Raheel Sharif lived up to his family name and completed his tenure in the best way possible.
Additionally, PM Sharif will also be picking another top commander, a new chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee as another position is falling vacant with the retirement of Gen Rashad Mehmood. A tweet from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) chief Lt Gen Asim Bajwa laid rest to all speculations about the retiring COAS. It was hyped that the top brass commander would certainly go for an extension and he wouldn’t let go of the office easily. Moonis Elahi is of the view that a tweet from the ISPR chief had laid rest to all speculations and hypes and has now removed the vacuum which was used to misguide the nation by the puppets on enemy’s pay roll.

The announcement made from military’s official media channel paved the way for the government to announce a successor. Though the prime minister is the only person who knows for sure who the successor would be, it is widely speculated that Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem, who is currently serving as Multan corps commander, will be named the next army chief. according to PM’s aides, he has already made up his mind and will not deter from the choice he has made. Moonis Elahi is hopeful that whoever becomes the next top commander would work for the betterment of the nation and would prove to be a key player in a better future for Pakistan.

PMLN Has Taken More Loans In Last 3 Years Than Ever Recorded In History

PMLN Has Taken More Loans In Last 3 Years Than Ever Recorded In History

PMLN has broken all records of the past and it has become the first ever to take $24 Billion in loanMoonis Elahi sarcastically praised the government to set a new record. The infamous "Kashkol" lives on and the incumbent government seems to have made it one of their most prized possessions.

While on one end the PMLN media representatives glorify their supreme leader of being of the most successful PM ever, the facts go against these false claims. We can still hear Nawaz Sharif's pre election speeches ringing in our ears as if it were just yesterday when he bashed Zardari accusing him of taking the Kashkol to beg for loans, now he is doing the same but even more aggressively.

PMLQ's young politician Moonis Elahi is no mathematician or economist but when he says the economy is wrecked due to excessive debt servicing policy of the PMLN, he isn't wrong in pointing out the grave danger that lies ahead. While most seasoned politicians say they do not consider the young politicians worthy to be heard, it is the very attitude which is leading Pakistan towards its economic destruction. It is common sense that when you take loans at a hefty price and instead of repaying it, borrow some more and keep on taking loans the economy will be ruined and it will take many generations to repay the debt and live a harsh life.

Moonis Elahi Warns Govt Should See Writing On The Wall

Lahore 1st November 2016 - PMLQ leader and a parliamentarian in the Punjab Assembly, Moonis Elahi has pressed Nawaz Sharif should read into the severity of the matter and handle it sensibly with regards to Panama Leaks and security of Islamabad before it is too late. "PMLN is left with two options, 1) either the premier should present himself for accountability in Panama Case and disclose the name of person involved in the security leak or 2) act stubbornly and prepare to get weakened politically finding it hard to cling to power" said Moonis Elahi

While talking to DAWN on Monday, Moonis Elahi said it was impossible for the government to be unaware about the person behind the security leaks. "It is hard to understand why the Govt is taking so long to conclude its investigation in the security leaks." While adding on the current Govt stance to tackle Islamabad situation "taking extreme measures by blockading roads and arresting however it wishes is ruining PMLN's image and is of no service to democracy".

An FIR has been registered against Moonis Elahi in Islamabad for allegedly sending a truck load of PMLQ party flags and sticks with regards to Nov 2. Some PMLQ leaders are of the view, PMLN targets Moonis Elahi son of former Deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as part of its vindictive policy. "It was a tactic used to deter us from the support we are lending to Imran Khan regarding Nov 2, but we are firm and are not afraid of fake cases" a PMLQ leader quoted.

Moonis Elahi said his party workers would reach Islamabad no matter what. "Police have already arrested over 800 workers of our party from Gujrat, including MPA Vickas Mokal but we aren't intimidated by these antics and will reach Islamabad at any cost". Most of the workers are leaving for Islamabad from Gujrat a stronghold of Chaudhrys. "Police have raided residences of a number of our active members in Punjab, especially Gujrat" said a PMLQ office bearer.

Punjab Govt Loses Its Marbles Starts Abducting Political Workers

Punjab Govt Loses Its Marbles Starts Abducting Political Workers

PMLN has long been accused of corruption with many cases pending in the courts. Now as opposition parties gather to hold a massive rally in Islamabad against the government's ill practices and avoiding accountability, PMLN has resort to low tactics.

Moonis Elahi is a leader of PMLQ and as his party is an opposition party in the parliament. It has started to suffer in the wake of Nov 2 call. PMLQ candidate Shujat Nawaz from Gujrat PP 108 has been picked up by Punjab police and PMLQ Senator Kamil Ali Agha's house has been raided by the police.

PMLQ MPA Vaqas Mokal from Kasur has also been detained and is being taken to Sahiwal jail. He is being punished for standing up to PMLN as Nawaz Sharif wishes to rule this country like a king despite claiming to call his party a democratic party.

Moonis Elahi Praises Pakistan Hockey Team Performance in Asian Trophy

Moonis Elahi Praises Pakistan Hockey Team Performance in Asian Trophy

Pakistan has a history of having the world's best hockey team with many awards and trophies to support the claim. Recently due to massive political influence and awarding sports chairmanship on favoritism, PMLN has successfully managed to destroy the Pakistan hockey team. Despite low funds and lack of training, Pakistani hockey team has managed to remain in the spotlight in Asian Trophy.

It is an honor for Pakistan to have such talented sportsmen who can highlight the country on the international stage with pride said Moonis Elahi. Unfortunately the present government is destroying this valuable asset the country holds due to awarding top positions to corrupt people who have favored Nawaz Sharif in the past. Moonis Elahi said Sports should not be politicized as it is a vital pillar of the nation which needs to focus on setting new records.

Terminating Pervaiz Rasheed is What Nawaz Sharif Is Only Capable To Do

Terminating Pervaiz Rasheed is What Nawaz Sharif Is Only Capable To Do

Minutes of a highly classified meeting between PMLN and the establishment was leaked from the Prime Minister house. Its appearance in Dawn newspaper sparked outrage among the nation and the Govt was asked to bring forth the person who committed the crime. It is highly speculated that the minutes were given to Cyril Almeida on orders of Maryam Safdar, Nawaz Sharif's daughter with the purpose of defaming Pakistani Army.

Moonis Elahi denied to comment on rumors but said terminating Pervaiz Rasheed is not the answer this nation seeks. He (Rasheed) was treated the same way Rana Sanaullah was treated in the Model Town case. Nawaz Sharif uses his party workers as scapegoats and to make the cases more complex. It is not impossible to expose the person who handed over the confidential documents to the journalist. Negative attitude shown by the Prime Minister house on this issue raises skepticism.

Moonis Elahi Says Lives Lost in Quetta Attack Will Not Go in Vain

Moonis Elahi Says Lives Lost in Quetta Attack Will Not Go in Vain

Every citizen of the nation is precious and a single life loss should be treated as a national loss. Quetta attack has proven PMLN is incapable of defending its citizens. The National Action Plan is exposed as "No Action Plan" as the incumbent government has completely failed to provide security. As opposition parties plan to stage a huge protest in the country's capital Islamabad, Moonis Elahi says Nov 2 will be D Day for PMLN. They (PMLN) will have to pay for their ignorance over security matters of the state and will be held accountable for all their wrong deeds.

Their (Nawaz Sharif and family) corruption will no longer be tolerated at the expense of Pakistani tax payers money. It is a possibility that Islamabad will be locked down until the premier resigns or presents himself for accountability.

Moonis Elahi Rubbishes PMLN's Stubbornness Over Nawaz Sharif's Leadership

Moonis Elahi Rubbishes PMLN's Stubbornness Over Nawaz Sharif's Leadership

Amid tensions growing over Nawaz Sharif's family owned offshore companies, PMLN's political workers and should choose a new leader. Moonis Elahi terms it PMLN's foolishness to defend their leader when his family members have been named in the Panama Papers. It is evident that the offshore companies were formed through embezzled money flown from Pakistan using illegal channels to buy property and provide a luxurious lifestyle to the premier's children in London.

Money looted from Pakistan should be brought back in the country and used where it was intended. Pakistan already suffers great debt from worldwide loan issuers. If the looted amount is returned to the country Pakistan would be in a position to return the loan and would be on the road to prosperity. Moonis Elahi iterates PMLN's political workers should press their leader to surrender his ill gotten wealth to the nation for its betterment and progress. Their stubbornness and constant support to a corrupt leader is caused tremendous harm to the nation.

Moonis Elahi Condemns Quetta Terrorist Attack

Moonis Elahi Condemns Quetta Terrorist Attack

At least 59 police cadets have died and more than 110 were injured when a team of heavily armed terrorists stormed a police training academy in Quetta. Pakistan has long suffered terrorist attacks but the PMLN Govt seems unable to control it. Moonis Elahi has strongly condemned the attack which happened in the wee hours on Monday.

The nation stands with the families of the affected and Moonis Elahi has vowed to make efforts to punish the culprits. His family also witnessed a terrorist attack when his grandfather Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi was murdered. Pakistan needs a National Action Plan to get rid of this menace but unfortunately Nawaz Sharif and his companions are too busy plundering to think about the citizens.

Moonis Elahi Expresses Grief Over Drug Addiction in Islamabad Schools

Drug Addiction in Islamabad Schools-Moonis Elahi

Schools are institutions where you seek knowledge and stay away from evil. But in Islamabad it is the opposite where students spend time puffing smoke or indulging in drugs. Moonis Elahi points out the real reason behind this addiction is the influence of Hanif Abbasi aka Ephedrine Abbasi a well known drug lord and PMLN's MNA

When you choose drug lords to rule a city and ignore the literate and noble people of the society this is what you get. Despite many proofs Ephedrine Abbasi has managed to wiggle out of cases filed against him on Nawaz Sharif's behest. As long as PMLN rules this country the nation is doomed for sure.

Moonis Elahi Says PMLN's Bad Governance Will Create Problems in Future

Moonis Elahi-Pakistan economy

Pakistan faces many threats internally and externally. The current government's cavalier attitude is astonishing as their bad governance today will create many problems in future. Moonis Elahi claims IMF reports have proven that PMLN has missed all economic growth targets by a huge margin. With such a poor economy and constant loan servicing puts Pakistan at risk.

The money acquired in terms of loan isn't being used on projects which would be in Pakistan's favor. Debt retiring would become impossible and Ishaq Dar should refrain from producing false reports at Nawaz Sharif's behest. Pakistan's economy sunk below 2013's graph while Nawaz Sharif's assets continue to increase.

Moonis Elahi Favors Honoring The Farmer Of Pakistan

Moonis Elahi-World Food Hunger Day

World Food Hunger Day is celebrated globally as a day of action to help eradicate hunger. On 16th October, people from all over the globe come together and pledge to help in the fight to end hunger from our planet. This day holds importance as thousands of people die all over the globe due to hunger and malnutrition.

Moonis Elahi is not happy by the policies of PMLN concerning hunger eradication. While Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif are busy constructing roads and focusing on how they can loot more from this country, the poor farmer is stranded. PMLN has completely failed to honor the farmer of Pakistan who plays the key role in eradicating hunger. If you don't have crops, you do not have anything to eat.

Moonis Elahi Supports Building Kalabagh Dam

It's been decades now since we are hearing there will be an end to load shedding in the country once and for all. Ending the menace has always been a jingle of PMLN to gain votes in elections and secure their seats however no concrete steps have been taken by the said government and the dream still lives on.
moonis-elahi-kalabagh-dam-2015
Pakistan faces the worst power shortfall every year and the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Shahbaz Shareef, during his election campaigns had promised to end it within six months once regaining power. Only Moonis Elahi during the tenure of PMLQ brought up a solution in the form of Kalabagh Dam which can be completed in just 5 years.

Moonis Elahi and PMLQ's Mega Project Lahore Sports City Axed by PMLN's Vindictive Policy

No nation can flourish unless it is provided adequate opportunities to earn freely. Roti, Kapra and Makan is not just a slogan to win votes, they are the very basic needs of every citizen of a country and unless they are provided with opportunities to earn them in a respectable manner a nation cannot progress. While the slogan was used in the past to arouse sentiments of the nation and simply gain attention for political gains, Moonis Elahi and the leadership of PMLQ actually tried to turn this slogan into a reality in the form of Lahore Sports City. Conceived by PMLQ in 2005, it was one such concrete effort to provide the city of Lahore with a sustainable source of decent livelihood. The mega project was not only aimed to further beautify Lahore, but to also provide a huge business opportunity to the city. moonis-elahi-youtube

Moonis Elahi's Vision on Growth and Development Moonis Elahi is a Wharton Business School USA graduate and strongly believes in sustainable development through achievable and measurable goals. It was due to his vision for growth and prosperity of the region that he participated actively with his father Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, leader of PMLQ in creating novel and highly profitable ventures and Lahore Sports City was also such venture.

The project was put on the table in the parliament and it was agreed that upon completion it would be able to create up to 100,000 annual job opportunities. The project was to be completed by 2011 and aimed to provide 20,000 homes based on contemporary architecture equipped with modern amenities can only be seen in the developed countries.   Foreign Investment To Fund The Project As Pakistan was progressing at break neck speed in all sectors, but still it suffered backlashes from the doings of previous governments. To make the project a reality, an unprecedented agreement was signed between the Punjab government and the brotherly Islamic country of United Arab Emirates (UAE). UAE agreed to invest Rs. 12 billion in the project which could ultimately make Lahore Sports City Asia's ultra modern housing project. It's proposed site was on the bank of river Ravi and the project spanned over 600 acres of land.

The idea to construct it by the historical river was to provide an added attraction and also to preserve the river. Being a firm supporter of environment preservation, Moonis Elahi played an important role to convince investors to set up a state of the art water purification plant on the river Ravi so as to introduce clean water instead of the sewage falling as of now. PMLQ's efforts had brought peace in Punjab making it a calm and visibly progressive province. Considering the various ongoing projects and their progress in the province, investors were obvious that Punjab was an investment friendly province. To his great disappointment, Moonis Elahi feels PMLN's vindictive policy to dump the project has denied a huge investment opportunity in Lahore.

Honest Govt Officials Find it Hard to Work with PMLN's Corrupt Policies

Neelum Jehlum project CEO resigned -Moonis Elahi

N League is one of the biggest political parties in Pakistan and has been in government a number of times. As of now, the party's premier stands guilty of corruption by transferring money to his children's offshore companies using illegal methods to avoid money trail and also to avoid taxes.

Moonis Elahi has condemned the malpractice applied by the PMLN's top leadership to plunder on taxpayers money for their personal gains.
Their (PMLN leadership's) greed has no limit and as they have been exposed, they still haven't stopped their looting spree. WAPDA's chairman, being an honest official didn't allow the incumbent government to use the organization's money which created a constant dispute between him and the PMLN leadership.

As a last resort the chairman could do nothing but resign to distance himself from the looting that goes on in WAPDA at PMLN's behest. Following his lead the Neelum Jehlum project CEO has also resigned as he too wasn't in favor of letting Nawaz Sharif's goons malign his reputation.

Moonis Elahi Concerned About Loyal Govt Officers

PMLN has always set new records of corruption whenever it gains power. They have been accused time and again of misusing the state's institutions and looting tax money. As panama papers have also identified Nawaz Sharif's huge wealth in the name of his family, his corruption still does not cease. In the wake of his incompetence to rule the country with fairness, patriotic and loyal Govt officials are finding it hard to work under PMLN's rule.

Due to their embezzlement's institutions aren't allowed to work as per their needs and at the end they get blamed which is a serious concern. at first it was the Chairman WAPDA resigned due to their negative policies and now Neelum Jehlum CEO has quit owing to Government policies.
